ROAD SHOW

The Black & Gold showed its show was ready for the road with a 46-3 win in sloppy conditions at North Penn on Saturday.

Old Gaelic entered the fray with a 5-0 record (4-0 in division play) – all in the friendly confines of Williams Grove.  Against the Knights, the Griffins parlayed clean ball and fast hands into seven points when Brian Ogle turned the corner on a perfect feed from filling fullback Justin Stefanon.  Dan Roth’s conversion was pure, as was his penalty kick a short time later, and Gold led, 10-0.

North Penn got on the board with a penalty kick before Mark Olivetti, awarded the B.O.A. at the post-game, finished off a fine maul with a 35-meter dash to paydirt.  Stefanon got in the scoring act with a try (assist to James Oliverio) and Roth followed with a bolt off a quick tap to give Old Gaelic a 27-3 advantage at the break.

Stefanon scored again when he covered a nifty Ogle kick-ahead and Olivetti fell on a blocked ball in goal for his second marker.  Chris Hall benefited from Oliverio’s second assist when he capped the fun with his first try.  There was no B game.

T: J Stefanon 2, Olivetti 2, Ogle, Roth, Chris Hall.
