NORTH PENN (4/30)

You want drama -- how about winning the game on a partially blocked drop
kick on the final play of the game.  That's exactly what happened when
Dan Roth split the uprights as time expired to cap off a thrilling 35-34
verdict over North Penn.
After the hosts raced to a 10-0 lead, Roth answered with the first of
three drop kicks (he now holds the club record he previously shared with
Tunis) to put the Griffs on the board.  A quick take by Roth tied the
score at 10.  North Penn sandwiched a pair of tries around a pretty feed
from Roth to Scott Lindsay and Old Gaelic led at the break, 22-20.
Pete Sharpe scored off a pretty rolling maul after a lineout (assist to
Matt Hart) to make it 29-20.  Penn added to tries, the second after
another Roth drop kick, and led, 34-32, with just minutes remaining.
Old Gaelic worked methodically downfield and missed two attempts at drop
goals.  The third time was a charm.  North Penn is moving to Division
III this fall and should be a worthy opponent.
